Our Story

It started with one senior Shih Tzu

Millie was Tiffany Lewis's own dog. Looking for a hemp oil for her meant asking three questions that nobody in the category seemed willing to answer straight: where was it grown, what is actually in it, and who tested it.

The answers were vague every time. Extract bought from a broker. Ingredient lists that stopped short. Lab reports that existed somewhere, in theory, for some other batch.

A conversation with Dawn

Tiffany's mother, Dawn Gordon, had spent years studying hemp and runs Fingerboard Farm in Ijamsville, one of Maryland's first woman-owned licensed hemp farms. Between the two of them they had the thing nobody else could offer: a farm they controlled, from the ground up.

So they made one

After months of work, they landed on a formula with four central ingredients and nothing else: organic cold-pressed hemp seed oil, organic broad-spectrum hemp oil, sunflower lecithin, and a proprietary blend of terpenes. Before it went on sale, Tiffany ran a limited batch for friends and family and asked them what they thought.

Everything still happens at the farm. The growing, the extraction, the formulation, the bottling. That is what lets us answer the three questions. It is grown at 10240 Fingerboard Road. You can read the full ingredient list on the bottle. It is tested by an independent lab, by lot, and the report is posted.

Who is behind it

Tiffany Lewis is the founder and CEO of Pet and Home Care, which she started in January 1999, with over 30 years in the pet care industry. Dawn Gordon runs Fingerboard Farm. Pleasant Pet Oil™ is the product of both.
